|Scope & Content||
A handbill advertising 'Woman Proof,' a film starring Thomas Meighan, showing in Gypsum on August 19, 1924, in Eagle on August 20, and in Minturn on August 21.
The top is badly chipped and brittle having been extended out of the Assessment Roll 1923 Eagle County (used as a bookmark). The rest of the handbill is in excellent condition, having been protected by the rag paper ledger pages.
'Woman Proof' was produced by Paramount Production. "The story deals with the four children of a rich man, who divides his estates among them on condition that each is married within five years following the reading of the will. Should they fail to carry out that provision, the millions are to go to an old people's home. All of the children, with the exception of Tom Rockwood (played by Thomas Meighan), choose their partners, and, although Tom is not woman-proof, his luke-warmness until he meets the girl of his heart (played by Lila Lee) causes considerable trouble." -- Adelaide Register, April 4, 1924 p.12
